Director of Behavioral Health

MISSION

Kheir's mission is to increase and provide access to culturally and linguistically-sensitive quality primary healthcare and human services support to the underserved and uninsured residents of Southern California.

ASSIGNMENT SUMMARY

The Director of Behavioral Health at Kheir Clinic will lead our efforts in providing comprehensive mental health services that align with our mission to increase and provide access to culturally and linguistically-sensitive quality primary healthcare and human services support to the underserved and uninsured residents of Southern California. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of behavioral health services within our community. Responsibilities also encompass supervising staff, training behavioral health workforce and strategic business development. The Behavioral Health Director is a key contributor on the Senior Leadership Team and reports directly to the Chief Clinical Officer.

Under the supervision of the CCO, the Director of Behavioral Health is responsible for further developing and monitoring the success of a behavioral health program that is fully integrated with Kheir's medical practice. The Director of Behavioral Health sets the overall strategic direction and alignment for behavioral health and substance use disorder services at Kheir and is responsible for the management and oversight for Behavioral Health and Psychiatry services at all Kheir Clinic's community health centers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree or higher in psychology, social work, or related field with relevant licensure.
• Extensive experience in behavioral health settings, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and its application in treatment plans.
• Experience with art therapy or gender issues counseling is a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, patients, and community partners.
• Demonstrated ability to develop programs that address diverse community needs.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple initiatives effectively.
• Spanish Bilingual or Korean Bilingual required

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

This is primarily an office position that requires only occasional bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and moving of office materials weighing 25 pounds or less. The position requires daily use of a company provided computer and requires entering, viewing, and revising text and graphics on the computer terminal and on paper. The position requires occasional travel to attend on- and off-site meetings.
