Cold Case Investigator

This current vacancy exists in the City of Stockton Police Department. The Cold Case Investigator handles multiple duties, including reviewing old case files, follow up on old or new leads and collaborate with forensic experts & crime labs, amongst other duties. Skills in analytical and critical thinking, deep understanding of criminal law and procedure, experience in investigative techniques and forensics and interviewing and strong communication skills.

Incumbents in this position are included in the Civil Service system, in a "for-cause" employment status, and are unrepresented. (Classified / Unrepresented)

Under general supervision, provides assistance with technical, administrative and field activities; performs research and assists with conducting various studies and analyses in the Police and Fire Departments. Performs other related duties as assigned.
