Job Description & Requirements Specialty : PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 15 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Opportunity : RN - PCU Stepdown Job Details : Work 12-hour day shifts from 6 : 30 AM to 7 : 00 PM or night shifts from 6 : 30 PM to 7 : 00 AM Maintain 1 : 4 nurse-to-patient ratio on 22-bed stepdown unit Care for patients with heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke Required to titrate drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro Read and interpret telemetry strips independently Work with CPAP equipment and troubleshoot as needed Charge nurse takes full patient assignment Patient care techs available with 1 : 10 ratio Cyclic scheduling with every other weekend requirement Holiday requirements include 1 major and 1 minor holiday May float to ICU if appropriate experience One 12-hour shift of unit-specific orientation provided Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% score Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Use EPIC charting system Fast-paced environment with frequent admissions and discharges Artificial nails prohibited - must be removed or contract terminated Must reside more than 50 miles from facility Driver's license required for verification of distance requirement Facility : This healthcare facility operates a 22-bed progressive care unit specializing in stepdown care for patients transitioning from intensive care.
