Position Overview

A Technician is responsible for the setup and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation : Ensure a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section.
• Customer Service : Strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers; maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication; meet with guests on site to ensure needs are met and equipment setup is working properly; monitor events and check in on customers throughout the day; understand and foster the hotel / client relationship.
• Technical Ability : Understand the technical aspects of the job and demonstrate basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues; handle equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
• Systems Knowledge : Understand company processes, follow procedures, and complete systems entry and paperwork accurately; use equipment sheets to determine equipment scheduled for setup and strike; interact with other staff and outside vendors for equipment; increase revenue by utilizing floor up-selling techniques; work with clients to finalize invoices; complete order entries in Navigator, as needed.

Work Environment

Hotel / convention center environment with varying noise levels; exposure to high-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components; may work at multiple hotel locations; irregular hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Appearance guidelines apply per Encore and individual hotels.

Compensation

Hourly Pay Range : $15.09 - $18.49. Final compensation is based on location, travel, experience, and skills; some positions may be eligible for overtime, bonuses or incentives.
