Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced PCU RN for a float pool position requiring KS or compact licensure and at least two years of recent specialty experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital progressive care unit as part of a float pool covering five Med / Surg Intermediate / PCU departments and other metro campuses as neededNight shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18 : 45 to 07 : 15Patient ratios are typically 1 : 5Required to work at least 8 weekend shifts within each 6-week scheduling periodHoliday and charge RN shifts may be assigned as neededResponsibilities include care for MS / Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown unitsFloating is required within scope and clinician will not have a home unitNo on-call requiredUses specialized equipment such as 12 lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and OmnicellMust be willing to float as needed across designated units and campus locationsHoliday coverage and charge RN responsibilities may be assigned as requiredFirst-time travelers are accepted for this positionNo travel partners accepted for this contractMaximum of 7 days RTO (requested time off) permitted for the assignmentPre-employment modules (averaging 5-8 hours) and annual training are required prior to startDiluted or positive drug screen results that cannot be cleared by MRO will disqualify the candidate, with a 6 month waiting period before reapplyingRequirements
Active KS or compact RN license in hand by start, with eligibility to float to Missouri if neededMinimum 2 years of recent progressive care or telemetry RN experience with no gap in specialty employment greater than 90 days in the past yearCurrent BLS and NIHSS certifications requiredACLS certification preferredExperience required with cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry, care for post-cardiac cath, sepsis, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, COVIDSkill with wound care, feeding tube care, IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line management preferredMust provide two professional references, with at least one from a supervisor and one from a charge RN, both within the past yearMust reside at least 75 miles from facility; local candidates within this radius are not acceptedPending licenses are not acceptedBenefits
