American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with an active AZ or compact license for a Med / Surg Telemetry night shift position, requiring ACLS and BLS certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is on the 4th floor MedSurg / Telemetry unit in an acute care hospitalUnit has 48 beds divided between surgical and neuro patient populationsPatient ratios are 1 : 5Common patients include those with COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetic, telemetry, TIA, CVA, general, orthopedic, and spinal surgical needsUnit uses Cerner as the EMRTelemetry is monitored remotely with techs; RNs interpret and sign tele strips at least once per shiftUses equipment such as Bipap, Cpap, high-flow oxygen, and provides some breathing treatments12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requiredFloating may be required to East Campus or PCU if qualifiedNo call or on-call responsibilitiesNavy blue scrubs are requiredUnit support includes nurse aides with a typical 1 : 10-15 ratio and both charge nurse and house supervisor supportNo titration of drips required; diltiazem drips are administered at set ratesTeam-based approach with charge nurses not taking patient assignmentsOne day of unit-specific orientation providedMust pass Relias Dysrhythmia exam and sterile technique testing prior to beginning assignmentHoliday coverage required for major holidays, with specific shift expectations for Christmas, New Year's, and ThanksgivingFirst-time travelers may be consideredPermanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility for candidates from AZ, NV, NE, IA, and MN\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses will not be acceptedCurrent ACLS and BLS certifications required; pending certifications not acceptedMinimum of 2 years recent relevant RN experienceExperience with reading basic tele strips and working with general and orthopedic surgical, TIA, and CVA patients is requiredCerner EMR experience is recommended due to only one day of orientationMust provide copy of driver’s license for considerationTwo professional references required : one supervisor from the past 12 months and one supervisor or peer from the past 3 yearsCandidates must not have worked directly for facilities associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI / Dignity) in the past year\n Benefits\n
