Foundry Engineer

Position : Foundry Engineer

Location : Elyria, OH

Position Summary :

Provide administrative and technical support to the Engineering Dept. and manufacturing operations. Responsible for the design, procurement, and implementation of new and / or existing tooling. Contribute to reducing scrap and cost reduction through the application of engineering principles.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a schedule of tooling release dates for production, including new tooling build, revisions, rigging changes, and repairs.
• Evaluate quote packages and provide Sales with pattern cost estimates.
• Review casting drawings and develop a manufacturing plan.
• Prepare write-ups and establish key process parameters for new parts.
• Use of CAD to establish pattern parting / mold design.
• Use Magma Soft simulation software to design and troubleshoot new and existing rigging.
• Communicates significant issues or developments identified in the manufacturing process and provides recommended process improvements to management.
• Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of engineering activities.
• Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.
• Manage the Pattern Storage Department activities & personnel.
• Effectively communicates with other departments.
• Communicates professionally with internal and external customers & suppliers..

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities :

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science preferred
