Job Summary :
Our client in Ann Arbor, MI is looking for a Regulatory Affairs & Certification Engineer II. This is a direct hire position.
Support the environmental compliance and certification of vehicles for emissions, corporate average fuel economy (CAFE), substances of concern, and EV-related issues. Support the review and submission of emissions certification documents and compliance reports and maintain ongoing credit records from these compliance reports. Help represent best interest with public agencies and industry groups.
- Help represent with Federal and State agencies and industry groups as required for issues including : Substances of Concern (including PFAS).EV Infrastructure.EV Battery Durability / Lifecycle.EV Battery Recycling.ICE Fuels and ZEV Fueling.
- Support the review and submission of emissions certification documents and compliance reports to related Federal and State agencies. Support the timely response to agency staff inquiries.
- Maintain ongoing credit records from various compliance reports including : MOG+NOx Fleet Average Reports.ZEV Reports.Federal and State GHG Reports.Federal CAFE Reports.
- Support the review and submission of OBD-II compliance reports and in-use data to CARB. Support the timely response to CARB staff inquiries.
- Support the preparation and reporting of U.S. regulatory forecasts on environmental issues to related MMC, MMNA, and MRDA groups.
- Develop solutions to routine problems of a wide scope. Apply MRDA principles and practices to projects of moderate complexity involving environmental issues.
- Support other complex, major projects requiring innovative, original solutions.
- Attend and provide reporting and analysis of key related Alliance for Automotive Innovation (AfAI, or Auto Innovators) technical working groups, as assigned by Manager.
- Work toward maintaining high quality standards and continuous improvement of the position and the organization.
- Participate in general testing, cross-functional testing (i.e., Emission Testing, EV Powertrain, and Vehicle Testing Groups), special projects, test trips, evaluations, and surveys as needed.
- Work to foster cooperation within the group and assist with handling any misunderstanding that might arise in a culturally diverse workforce.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned or required.
Qualifications :
Four-year degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.2+ years of transportation, regulatory, or certification affairs experience.General understanding of vehicle regulatory affairs and certification.Practical knowledge in one or more regulatory or certification areas.Computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint knowledge.How You Will Be Successful :
