The Collateral Due Diligence group ensures the integrity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance of the Bank's real estate appraisal, evaluation, and construction inspection processes. The team supports lending decisions by managing valuation workflows, maintaining appraisal independence, and applying federal and internal policy standards. It also leads audit coordination, policy updates, and staff development to uphold sound banking practices and operational excellence.

The Collateral Analyst I will assist in monitoring all aspects of the Bank's real estate appraisal and evaluation management program. This role will also take an active part as needed in the Bank's Construction Inspection program. This is an entry-level position designed to develop credit acumen and regulatory knowledge.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist Director and Manager and Collateral Due Diligence Group in maintaining appraisal / appraiser independence.
• Assist with as required : reviewing and maintaining appraisal logs, receiving lender request, identifying & determining appropriate type report / value / review to be ordered.
• Review appraisal reports under supervision, ensuring sufficient data and discussion of the analytical process to understand the conclusion of the report.
• Review income analysis under supervision, validating appropriate deductions and discounts and verifying mathematical calculations.
• Look for obvious inconsistencies and errors throughout the appraisal report.
• Ensure all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
• Communicate with appraisers and various areas of the bank.
• Review and prepare engagement and engage an approved appraiser per Stellar Bank policy, appraiser communication, lender confirmation, prepare review form upon appraisal delivery, coordinate revisions as may be required, distribute appraisal, review, invoice etc. as required per AD procedures.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the Collateral Due Diligence Group procedures.
• Compliance with any and all BSA / AML / CFT and Sanctions requirements set forth by Bank Policy and Procedure, including but not limited to timely completion of assigned training.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position is not responsible for the supervision of staff.

The incumbent is in a non-confined office setting in which they are free to move about at will. In the course of performing the duties and responsibilities of this position spends time writing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 25 pounds), sitting, typing on a computer keyboard, and standing, kneeling and reaching.
