Description :

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work as part of a team to provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of the physical therapist.

The PTA will implement selected components of patient / client interventions (treatment).

The PTA will obtain data related to the interventions provided and make modifications to selected interventions either to progress the patient / client or to ensure patient / client safety and comfort.

PTAs assist in the treatment of individuals of all ages who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives.

Patient care is provided in inpatient, outpatient, and home health settings.

The Physical Therapist Assistant reports directly to the Rehabilitation Manager.

Mental demands include astute communication skills with employees, physicians, visitors, and administration.

The ability to adjust to job situations that involve many different people and projects is required, necessitating independent action and judgment.

Physical demands include the ability to operate equipment, perform technical procedures, speak intelligently and professionally before others, and exercise supervision and management skills.

Must be a graduate of and have a certificate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

Minimum of two years of primarily outpatient experience is preferred.

Bilingual capabilities are helpful.

Working environment consists of a state-of-the-art, newly built rehabilitation gymnasium that is clean, well-lit, heated, and air-conditioned.

Exposure to unpleasant sights, smells, and infectious diseases is possible.
