Job Title : Producer
Part-time role, $1200-1500 / month for approx. 10-15 hours / week depending on experience. Please note that our budget is fixed for this project.

Young Futures (YF) is a non-profit that provides funding and support to organizations creating solutions for teen well-being in the digital world. We are their newest Storytelling Partner and are producing a video storytelling series capturing the work of three YF grantee schools across multiple states (California, Pennsylvania, and Mississippi, with potential location changes).
To support this work, we are seeking a skilled and organized Film Producer to oversee production—from pre-production planning through final deliverables—ensuring the project stays on schedule, on budget, and aligned with YF’s storytelling goals.
Key Responsibilities :
- Partner with the Director and YF team to refine project goals, messaging, and storytelling approach, focusing on its logistics and execution.
- Identify and secure key talent, locations, and interview subjects.
- Coordinate directly with schools (administrators, teachers, and staff) to arrange filming schedules that minimize classroom disruption.
- Manage the overall production budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Handle travel, permits, insurance, and logistics for multi-state filming.
- Hire and contract crew, vendors, and production support as needed.
- Ensure all paperwork (location agreements, student / guardian releases, insurance) is completed and compliant with school requirements.
- Review minor protection policy with all contractors, have them sign off in agreement, and conduct relevant background checks on criminal records, sex offender registries, minor abuse / neglect registries (since we are working with minors)
- Anticipate potential issues, and be responsive and proactive to solve them.
Production
Manage day-to-day shoot logistics, including call sheets, transportation, meals, and accommodations.Act as the main logistical point of contact between schools, YF, the Director, and crew during shoots.Travel on-location to the shoots in Palo Alto, CA; Philadelphia, PA; and Holmes County, MS (locations subject to change and travel is included in budget)Keep the production on schedule and within budget across multiple locations.Ensure filming in schools runs smoothly, respectfully, and in alignment with school policies.Troubleshoot operational issues quickly and efficiently.Hire and manage post-production staff (editor, graphics, sound, etc.) within the approved budget.Create and track the post-production schedule, ensuring deadlines are met.Facilitate 2–3 rounds of feedback and revisions per video between YF and the creative team.Ensure deliverables meet technical specifications and platform requirements.Oversee timely delivery of :4 fully edited videos (5–10 minutes each : 3 grantee school stories + 1 highlight / trailer).Social media teaser clips (30 sec–1 min per video).Transcripts and raw footage.Ensure all final materials are optimized for web and social platforms (16x9, 1x1, 9x16).Guarantee all deliverables are completed by April 2026.Communication & Reporting
Serve as the primary point of contact between YF and the production team about all logistics, working in tandem with the Director to coordinate with YF team.Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and budget status.Ensure all final deliverables are completed by April 2026.What We’re Looking For :
Proven experience as a Producer on documentary or multi-location film / video projects.Strong experience coordinating with institutions (schools, nonprofits, community orgs) preferred.Excellent budgeting and scheduling skills.Highly organized, with a strong knack for creating highly functional and visually aesthetic workflows and can stay on top of the project to hold all team members accountable.Ability to manage multiple vendors, contracts, and timelines simultaneously.Strong communication and diplomacy skills for working with schools, administrators, and families.Dependable and proactive communicator available during 9 am - 5 pm on weekdays, open to meet when issues arise, responds promptly, and provides advance notice if deadlines shift.Honest and transparent in managing expectations and problem-solving.Ability to provide a second creative opinion, offering valuable input to guide the project's direction.Passionate about creating a safe environment to feature youth voices leading phone policies in schoolsComfort with a freelance, project-based role.We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates.
