Accountant

Accountant Contract Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Covington, Kentucky. This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in financial operations and accounting practices, particularly in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to vital government projects while leveraging advanced accounting skills.

Responsibilities :

Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices.

Oversee accounts receivable tasks, including tracking payments and resolving discrepancies.

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.

Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and transactions.

Utilize Yardi software to streamline financial operations and reporting.

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and provide insights for financial planning.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies in all accounting activities.

Collaborate with internal teams to support audits and financial reviews.

Requirements :

Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.

Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting bank reconciliations.

Familiarity with Yardi software is highly desirable.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to assist in budget preparation.

Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations is essential.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a contract-based role.

Prior experience in the government industry is a plus.
