Dental Department Manager
SUMMARY
Responsible for the professional atmosphere and efficient operation of all PCCS Clinics. Directly responsible for the support staff, and for the efficient communication between the support staff and the providers, as well as communication between the support staff and all other departments. Manages all scheduling-related issues and decisions, both daily and long term.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
Clinical Oversight & Patient Care
Position is 75% on the clinic floor and 25% Administrative (Payroll, PTO, etc).
Consistently model desired professional behavior for staff (attitude, attendance, timeliness, etc.
Responsible for all scheduling templates and all interactions with the Call Center.
Deliver exceptional patient care while promoting community health and wellness.
Oversee and manage daily clinic flow, ensuring efficiency in clinical operations.
Guide teams to ensure compliance with MN radiation safety standards.
Assist in developing and writing dental clinic procedures and workflows.
Ensure patient-centered care, productivity goals, and regulatory compliance are achieved.
Responsible for daily and long-term management of U of M relationship.
Manage daily walk-in process for maximum patient volume and access.
Manage all patient relations in the clinics, involving the Director of Patient Relations when necessary.
Skilled in the Art of Conflict Resolution
Leadership & Strategic Planning
Lead strategic initiatives and ensure their successful implementation across the clinic.
Assist the Director of Provider Services in determining the strategic direction and annual objectives for the Dental Department.
Assist the Director of Provider Services by leading regular team meetings and reviewing departmental progress toward goals.
Work with the Director of Provider Services to establish new lines of business and new clinic locations.
Foster a culture of teamwork, cooperation, and patient-centered care.
Working knowledge of State and Federal Employment Law
Assist in the creation and achievement of Key Performance Indicators.
Staff Management & Training
Work with the Lead Dental Assistant to manage the daily assignments of the dental staff, based on anticipated workflow and staff availability.
Develop Support Staff Staffing Plan for all clinics.
Recruit, hire, train and terminate, staff, as needed, in coordination with the Director of Provider Services.
Ensure that staff members receive regular training tailored to their needs and clinic requirements.
Develop and update training protocols, policies, and procedures.
Promote and maintain a culture of teamwork and cooperation among all staff.
Schedule and conduct regular Team Meetings.
Ability and desire to mentor direct reports.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
Ensure clinic readiness for regulatory visits or surveys.
Ensure clinic compliance with OSHA standards.
Work with the Lead Dental Assistant to oversee the Infection Control program.
Work with the Safety Coordinator to ensure all staff are current on the required training.
Operations & Logistics
Work with the Lead Dental Assistant to establish and oversee an inventory control system for supply ordering and tracking.
Form and maintain strong relationships with Suppliers and Reps.
Work with the Lead Dental Assistant to ensure that all dental equipment is inventoried and properly maintained.
Ensure that dental areas are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
Help to develop, implement, and support new clinic scheduling templates.
Quality Improvement
Ensure that PCCS delivers the highest quality care, patient experience, and access to all services.
Support and implement initiatives to improve the efficiency of clinical operations.
Lead clinic participation in FUHN data tracking and reporting.
Assist with monthly Quality Metrics Tracking and Reporting.
Attend and present at CQI Board Committee meetings.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time while managing multiple clinic sites in two locations.
Position requires occasional prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
08 : 00 am to 05 : 00 pm, Mondays to Fridays
40 Hours per week
