Southside Electric Cooperative is looking for an experienced Warehouse Clerk to join our Central District team located in Crewe, Virginia. Candidates must have experience in inventory control, warehouse systems, data entry, and order processing in addition to general labor, forklift operator, and truck driving skills. Candidates with only forklift / loading experience will not be considered.

As a Warehouse Clerk, you will oversee the materials, supplies, and equipment handling process at our Central District Warehouse in a safe and efficient manner. In addition to the organizational skills and physical strength required to manage and store the inventory used for electric power distribution, this position requires the ability to manage the administrative and clerical details necessary to keep the warehouse running smoothly.

What will you do if hired?

• Receive and inspect delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment and place material in proper stock location within the warehouse.
• Label transformers, regulators, breakers, and other special equipment in accordance with established procedures and maintain appropriate records in the inventory management system.
• Issue and receive material and equipment into the warehouse daily as per work order requirements and maintain inventory control using pick ticket and current software.
• Review inventory stock levels regularly and prepare a list of items to be reordered.
• Prepare material for shipment and delivery to other district offices.
• Provide Accounting Department with accurate record of all materials and supplies handled.
• Prepare reports that record receipt and distribution of materials, organizational skills to track power-operated equipment and organize storage of materials
• Maintain warehouse and yard area in a neat, safe, and orderly fashion.
• Perform maintenance work on Cooperative property and equipment as assigned or requested.
• Maintain appearance of district building and grounds, which may include, but not limited to, janitorial and yard mowing services as needed.

Qualified applicants have two years of experience in warehouse inventory control or rural electric distribution. Additionally, you have two years' experience in the use of data entry equipment and are proficient and accurate in computer keying.

High school diploma or GED required. Must be forklift certified and have a valid Class A Virginia Commercial Driver's License or acquire one within three months from date of hire.

This is a physically demanding position . Applicants must be able to lift 75 pounds, walk, bend, twist, squat, push, pull, reach, stand for long periods, and carry items from place to place.

Must have the organizational skills to track power-operated equipment and organize storage of materials.

Warehouse Clerks must live within 60 minutes legal drive time of our Central District Office located in Crewe, VA.
