TITLE : Electrified Powertrain Torque Controls Algorithm Engineer

DUTIES : Work with a team of powertrain controls, calibrations, and integration engineers to develop electrified powertrain systems for current and next-generation electrified powertrains. Develop a complete electrified powertrain that meets the vehicle functional requirements for fuel economy, emissions, drivability, and diagnostics. Develop controls strategies related to start-stop, strategic optimization of engine speed, gear, powertrain state, engine torque optimization, and tactical torque controls for drivability management, brake regeneration controls, and hybrid shift execution strategies integrated with hybrid system constraints. Utilize the physics principles of the combustion engine and electric motors and model mechanical transmission systems. Use lever analogy principles for determining dynamic torque and speed relations used extensively across hybrid torque controls. Mathematical formulation of powertrain linear systems to solve optimization / control problems. Up to 10% domestic and international travel required.
