NOWCAP Services Handyman Position

NOWCAP Services employs essential workers providing services and supports to individuals with disabilities. This is a part time position 20 hours per week. Monday through Friday. With a pay rate of $16 per hour. The primary functions of this position are general repairs and upkeep of vehicles and facilities as needed. The ideal candidate will have a basic knowledge of standard handyman services such as drywall repair, painting, regular maintenance of plumbing, heating / cooling, and electrical systems, furniture assembly, mild-moderate carpentry work, vehicle maintenance, etc. Applicants must be able to complete a background check and pre-employment drug screening. For vehicle insurance purposes the minimum age is 21 with less than 2 moving violations on your driving record. Veterans and individuals with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties of the Position :

• This position requires that the employee read, write, type, speak and comprehend the English language.
• This position requires that the employee report to work / training as scheduled, stay awake and alert during work / training, and follow company policy for arranging time away from work.
• This position requires that the employee follow all policies and procedures at all times and as written unless official accommodation or dispensation is given by the Executive Director.
• Employees in this position will interact with colleagues and participants professionally and in a manner consistent with policy.
• This position is required to be certified and able to perform CPR and First Aid. These components may include, but are not limited to, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
• This position requires cleaning of work site which requires bending, lifting, reaching, working on hands and knees (any number of possible scenarios may be experienced) and working with and around cleaning supplies.
• This position may require extended periods of sitting, standing or walking for the duration of a work assignment.
• This position is required to be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted, and more than 50 pound with assistance; and to complete repetitive physical motions.
• This position requires that the employee maintain a valid driver's license, maintain an insurable driving record, and operate any vehicle (personal or company owned) on behalf of the organization.
