Lead Senior Systems Administrator (Unix / Linux)

Overview

Data Intelligence, LLC is seeking an experienced Lead Senior Systems Administrator (Linux / Unix) with expertise in Unix / Linux environments to support the NSWCDD IT Infrastructure Operations and Support Services in Dahlgren, VA. The ideal candidate will have significant experience managing and supporting Unix / Linux-based systems in secure environments, with a focus on system performance, troubleshooting, and security.

Responsibilities

• Lead the administration, maintenance, and support of Unix / Linux-based systems within mission-critical environments.
• Oversee system backup and recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
• Manage security configurations, library management, and basic software management across Unix / Linux platforms.
• Install and configure hardware, operating systems, and COTS software in Unix / Linux environments.
• Troubleshoot and optimize system performance, including hardware / software / network issues and resource allocation.
• Work with various network protocols, including TCP / IP, to maintain network performance and security.
• Manage and implement network security tools, such as firewalls, ensuring systems are protected against vulnerabilities.
• Identify and mitigate computing and networking vulnerabilities through the latest detection methods and attack prevention techniques.
• Provide expert-level guidance and mentoring to junior system administrators.
