About The Position

Job Title : RN - PACU Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Post Anesthesia Care Unit Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Days Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : Minimum 2 Years License : Active RN License Certifications : BLS, ACLS Description : Travel RN position available in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. The unit consists of 10 pre-op and 10 PACU beds. There are 17 staff members for both departments. Staff members are expected to float between both units. Shifts are staggered, with the pre-op shift starting at 5 : 30 AM and the last staff member arriving by 2 PM. The unit is staffed until 9 : 30 PM, while night shift call shifts are required. Patient ratios are 2 : 1. Typical equipment includes Phillips monitors, and the EMR system used is Meditech. Candidates must have BLS and ACLS certifications to be considered for the role. Candidates with Meditech experience will be preferred. The unit handles a large variety of surgical cases, including complex surgeries. ICU cases are transferred directly to the ICU unless full. The ideal candidate is flexible and enjoys a collaborative work environment. There is an emphasis on having fun at work while maintaining high standards of care. The unit is currently preparing for a busy season, with several staff out on medical leave.
