Were looking for an HR & Office Operations Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment someone who can balance people leadership with process improvement, and who isnt afraid to dig into systems, data, and technology to make things work smarter.

About the Role

As the HR & Office Operations Manager, youll play a key role in keeping our company running smoothly managing HR operations, maintaining compliance, supporting our people, and ensuring our systems and technology are optimized for efficiency.

This role bridges Human Resources, Systems Administration, and Office Operations, providing both strategic and hands-on support to our growing team. Youll collaborate with senior leadership to align HR, technology, and operations with company goals while maintaining an engaging, well-supported workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day HR operations including employee records, onboarding, benefits coordination, and compliance with California labor law.
  • Manage our HR technology and business platforms (BambooHR, JobTread, Sage 100 Contractor, Microsoft 365, DocuSign, Apple Business Manager, and others).
  • Oversee IT coordination tasks such as account setup, hardware provisioning, password resets, and basic troubleshooting for company systems and equipment.
  • Partner with our managed IT provider to maintain system security, updates, and user access controls.
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts, job postings, interviews, and onboarding to ensure a smooth new-hire experience.
  • Support payroll preparation, benefits deductions, and PTO tracking in partnership with Finance.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, office supply management, and facility operations for two business suites.
  • Lead culture initiatives, company events, and internal communications that keep employees engaged and connected.
  • Support the ongoing development of process automations, data integrity, and disaster recovery planning.

What Youll Bring

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in HR, operations, or office management (ideally in a small-to-mid-size company).
  • Proven ability to manage HRIS and business systems youre as comfortable building a workflow in BambooHR as you are resolving a printer issue.
  • Strong understanding of California HR compliance, benefits, and employee relations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail, strong follow-through, and a proactive mindset.
  • The ability to balance technical problem-solving with people-focused leadership.
  • Bonus Skills

  • Experience with software such as JobTread, Sage 100 Contractor, or other tech stacks.
  • Familiarity with Apple device management, Microsoft 365 Admin, or IT coordination.
  • Background in the design-build, construction, or architecture industry.
