American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Whole House Resource Pool position, requiring comfort with ICU, PCU, and MS units and strong critical care skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a large acute care hospital environment as a Resource Pool RNMust float between ICU, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), and Medical-Surgical (MS) units as neededICU patient ratio averages 2 : 1, PCU 5 : 1, and MS 6 : 1, flexing up to 7 : 1Schedule is nights, three 12-hour shifts per week (18 : 45–07 : 15), with an option for four 12s by requestFloating may occur up to 2–3 times per shift, with assignments re-evaluated every 4 hoursUses Epic charting; Epic experience is requiredWeekend requirement is either every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week blockMust work one holiday per 13-week contractProvide comprehensive care across ICU, PCU, and MS units as part of a dynamic resource poolRespond to emergencies including Rapid Response and Code team activationsParticipation in large teaching hospital environment with Level I Trauma CenterFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyAll time-off, block, or special scheduling requests must be made at time of submissionHoliday coverage required; must work one holiday per 13-week contractRadius rules apply for local candidates\n \n Requirements\n
Active VA or compact RN license required; pending licenses accepted for non-compact states2 years of ICU experience in a large Level I or II facility requiredCurrent ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredProficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial and central line management, blood product administrationSkilled in BiPAP / CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and airway suctioningAbility to interpret cardiac rhythms and titrate cardiac dripsAble to manage continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and insulin protocolsEpic EMR experience required\n Benefits\n
