Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This role combines process improvement and floor-level troubleshooting in a fast-paced plastic injection molding environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable analyzing data and improving processes as well as solving real-time production challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and automation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, and tooling issues directly on the floor.
- Assist maintenance and production teams with equipment modifications and repairs.
- Develop and implement process improvements to optimize quality, efficiency, and cycle times.
- Partner with production supervisors and operators to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Support new product launches, tooling changes, and engineering trials.
- Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and PM standards.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and facility safety policies.
- Support quality system requirements (PFMEA, control plans, capability studies, etc.).
- Work with engineering, production, maintenance, and quality teams to align on priorities.
- Serve as a technical resource for operators and technicians.
- Provide input on equipment purchases and capital projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).3+ years of experience in plastic injection molding or a similar manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of automation, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.Experience with injection molding equipment, tooling, and automation.Proficiency with CAD and Microsoft Office (SolidWorks).Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on the floor.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.3d printing experience is a plusWhat We're Looking For
