Security Officer - Unarmed Industrial Patrol

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Industrial Patrol in Big Island, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Professional with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents, while you provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will interact with employees and visitors, respond to alarms, and support access control procedures. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required. Pay Rate : $18.50 / Hour

Job Schedule : Day Time

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the manufacturing and industrial location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor for potential hazards or suspicious activity during patrols and report findings according to site protocols.
  • Assist employees and visitors by providing information and guidance as needed.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and / or unusual occurrences as required by site procedures.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and Allied Universal management to address security-related concerns and support a secure environment.

  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and / or badge experience is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required for driving positions and must meet Allied Universal Driver Policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
