Job description

The Electrician performs a variety of electrical work in the manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of electrical components, equipment, systems and machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Safety as the Number One Priority of all Lucas Milhaupt employees.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and repair problems in electrical wiring and systems up to 480 volts.
  • Accept, plan and complete assignments for repair or installation of electrical equipment, building systems and all plant production equipment.
  • Install conduit, panel boards and all related fittings including controls for power, heat and light in accordance with Local and National code.
  • Work from wiring diagrams, making diagrams if needed.
  • Using and maintaining all test equipment, instruments, measuring devices and controls.
  • Assist engineering with design of new equipment controls, PLC controls, building electrical systems and power distribution systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment program control problems through utilization of computer PLC interface or laptop computer.
  • Operate and maintain plant systems, including air compressors, pumps and general facility support systems.
  • Repair and maintain production machinery.
  • Recommend and implement improvements and / or modifications of sequence of electrical operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to work : Monday's - Thursday's 2 : 00pm - 11 : 00pm, Friday's 2 : 00pm - 6 : 00pm.

Physical Requirements

Works prolonged periods standing and walking

Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.

Must be able to visually inspect machines.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work at heights.

Education

Two to four years related experience

High School Diploma or GED

State electrician or electrician apprentice licensure
