Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with production machining experience. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and takes pride in doing quality work.
Key Responsibilities
Liaise with leaders to ensure safety, quality, and production targets are met.
Interpret engineering drawings and procedures to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Perform preventative maintenance of machines.
Communicate with supervisors, engineers, production control, and quality teams to resolve machining or quality issues.
Collaborate with management to identify areas of inefficiency.
Adhere to all provincial and federal laws, ISO Quality Programs, company policies, and safety / environmental regulations.
Verify dimensions of machined parts using micrometers, Verniers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
Report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
Maintain inspection records and complete reports.
Demonstrate excellence in CNC milling, turning, VBM, and horizontal milling.
Utilize knowledge of conventional milling and turning (considered an asset).
Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Physical
Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, carry, lift, and reach.
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Mental
Advanced math skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
Proficiency in English (oral and written).
Daily cross-departmental communication for efficiency.
Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
Education & Skills
Graduate from a technical school or equivalent.
Strong understanding of Metrology .
Experience with CNC programming (required).
Ability to select, align, and secure fixtures, tools, and materials using commercially available tooling.
Strong organizational skills with a focus on keeping workstations clean.
Commitment to established safety procedures and best practices.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience .
