Nursing Scheduler
Join our team as a Nursing Scheduler at Bel-Air Manor , a 71-bed skilled nursing facility in Newington, CT! In this vital role, you'll coordinate and maintain nursing schedules to ensure proper coverage and compliance with staffing regulations. You'll work closely with our nursing and administrative teams to manage shift changes, resolve scheduling needs, and help ensure residents receive consistent, high-quality care.

Nursing Scheduler Duties
Complete new schedules by the third week of the existing scheduleMaximize scheduling by balancing the number of personnel on a daily basisEnsure adequate coverage, covers call-ins by asking employees to cover the shift, keeping agency usage to a minimumPreplan coverage on all units for all scheduled time off, including : vacation time, holiday time, personal days, and LOA's. Ensures vacations are properly allotted and units adequately staffed during peak vacation timesMeet with Director of Nursing daily to discuss staffing issues for 24 hour periodAdvise DNS on information regarding the inability to cover call-ins, staffing patterns for the following 24 hour period, floating patternsSubmit written requests for vacation, status changes, LOA's, discussion of resignations, and / or open positions.Maintain files on current requests, past requests and agency bills.Communicate approvals / denials to employee requests.Requirements
1+ year of scheduling or administrative experience, ideally in healthcareStrong organizational and communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling / timekeeping systemsAbility to adapt quickly, resolve staffing issues, and maintain confidentialityHigh school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education preferred)Our Caring Community
