Job Description :

The IT Security Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and advising on information security issues related to systems, workflows, and internal controls within the agency. This role ensures that IT security processes are effective, compliant, and aligned with best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and evaluate IT security controls across systems and workflows.

Lead and coordinate IT security related projects for the agency.

Respond to and manage information security incidents.

Develop, publish, and maintain security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.

Conduct data classification assessments and campus-wide security audits.

Manage remediation plans following audits and assessments.

Collaborate with IT Management, Internal Audit, and VITA to address vulnerabilities.

Create, manage, and maintain user security awareness initiatives.

Perform ongoing security research to remain updated on emerging threats.

Prepare IT security documentation, including policies, notifications, website content, and alerts.

Candidate Expectations

Able to work independently without assistance.

Experienced in leading and managing highly complex security tasks.

Extensive industry background; advanced education preferred.

Strong understanding of IT security best practices and compliance requirements.
