Job description

Pathology Assistant in Training

On Job Training to Become a Pathologist’s Assistant

Northern Indiana

Position Description : Seeking a candidate to be trained while working to become a full-time Pathology Assistant for a community hospital.

Responsibilities include :

  • Gross description and complete dissection of all simple and complex surgical specimens
  • Assist pathologist in the operating room
  • Perform frozen sections
  • Assist in Bone Marrow / FNA specimen collection
  • Assist in rare autopsy cases
  • Assist with pathology laboratory operations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science preferred, experience in medical / healthcare field is favored.
  • Other : Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
