This is a Hybrid job location at Sidwainer, New Bedford, MA

Salary range : 29.80-31.25 per hour

Position Summary

The Compensation Specialist provides support in administering company compensation and benefits programs with a focus on data accuracy, reporting, and compliance. This role assists in maintaining HRIS and vendor systems, supporting retirement and savings programs (401k and Employee Stock Purchase Program), and conducting compensation and market research. The Analyst also helps maintain job descriptions, participates in audits, and contributes to employee communication and training materials. Additionally, this role serves as backup support for benefits and leave of absence functions, helping to ensure employees and managers receive timely and accurate information.

Key Responsibilities

Compensation Support :

  • Assist with compensation program administration, including pay structures, grades, and job catalog maintenance.
  • Support the development and updating of job descriptions and job architecture frameworks.
  • Help gather and analyze market data to support pay decisions and competitiveness.
  • Assist with participation in compensation and benefits surveys.

Benefits & Retirement Program Support :

  • Provide support for 401(k) and Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) enrollments, contributions, and reporting.
  • Perform data entry and audits to ensure accuracy in HRIS, payroll, and vendor files.
  • Assist with compliance testing, plan audits, and government filings.
  • Help prepare employee-facing materials on benefits programs and processes.
  • HRIS & Reporting :

  • Maintain accurate data in HRIS and vendor systems.
  • Run standard reports and assist with data analysis for compensation, benefits, and compliance purposes.
  • Perform routine audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with company policy and regulations.
  • Leave & Benefits Backup :

  • Provide backup support for benefits and leave of absence administration.
  • Assist employees and managers with questions related to benefits eligibility, policies, and procedures.
  • Support open enrollment and other benefits-related projects.
  • Training & Communications :

  • Assist with creating and updating training guides, FAQs, and employee communication materials.Help coordinate HR communications related to compensation, benefits, and leave programs.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR, benefits, or compensation support role.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and vendor benefit platforms. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to work with data and reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
