The Mental Health Association of Columbia-Greene Counties Inc. is looking to fill the position of Youth Clubhouse Manager.

The Youth Clubhouse is a Youth Recovery Community Organization that has drop-in centers that provide safer, supportive, and empowering environments in Columbia and Greene Counties. Our mission is to provide resources and support to all young individuals within the community who are in recovery, who are seeking recovery, or who have been impacted by substance use disorder (SUD). We also welcome all young allies in the community and who support recovery. We provide Peer Support services and youth-lead programming to empower young people to work collectively to achieve personal and shared goals related to recovery and wellness. The Clubhouses support all pathways to recovery, implement equity and inclusion, and promote long-term recovery as defined by the individual to have a lasting effect on the individual, families, and community. Clubhouse activities are Evidence Based (i.e. Strengthening Families Program, Teen Intervene and SPORT) influenced and are designed to provide a safe, non-judgmental, reliable, thriving environment for members to participate, experience joy, achieve, and succeed. The Clubhouses support and guide individuals toward self-actualization, self-sufficiency, and personal recovery. Community connections are designed to educate members, families, and professionals to build sustaining positive support systems and to foster opportunities for young people to overcome addictions and achieve wellness.

POSITION TYPE : Full Time-40 hours / non-exempt

PAY RANGE : $25.00-26.00 per hour.

WORK LOCATION : Hudson and Catskill, NY.

SHIFT SCHEDULE : Flexible hours between Monday-Friday 12 : 00pm-8 : 00pm with occasional weekend, holiday and evening hours based on program needs.

Job Duties Include :

  • Oversee day to day operations of Clubhouse sites.
  • Comply with HIPPA regulations and maintain the confidentiality of Clubhouse members.
  • Follow policies outlined by the New York State Justice Center for Mandated Reporting.
  • Provide on-site management, supervision, and support to staff, volunteers, and participants, including regularly scheduled meetings.
  • Adhere to funding guidelines and deliverables.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events and programming with staff and participants.
  • Keep clear and open communication between all locations, staff, and program director, including events, use of clubhouse, meetings, and transportation.
  • Manage (in collaboration with Communications Director) social media accounts and public facing calendars. Keep them updated.
  • Meet with and link participants with community resources and foster their varied paths to recovery. Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Coordinate and facilitate evidence-based practices, peer led support groups, and skill building workshops that adhere to grant deliverables.
  • Accurately record and report services and / or incidences as required by MHACG and grant requirements.
  • Complete all training requirements.
  • Monitor staff performance and coordinate professional development and training.
  • Keep up-to-date knowledge regarding recovery and services offered in the community.
  • Develop relationships with partners and providers in the community. Attend relevant community meetings and events.
  • Coordinate Advisory Committee participation and meetings.
  • Provide transportation, including driving large van, while maintaining all policy and procedures.
  • Keep open communication with parents / legal guardians of the Clubhouse members regarding transportation, field trips, updated consent forms and records.

Requirements

  • Must have personal recovery experience, broadly defined as ongoing growth and wellness beyond substance use or related challenges, and demonstrate the capacity to lead by example, modeling accountability, healthy decision-making, and positive coping in alignment with program values.
  • Associate degree in related field or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • CRPA certification or ability to acquire CRPA in the first 6 months.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of substance use, prevention, harm reduction, and recovery.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
  • Have leaderships skills, be a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Maintain professional relationships with staff, providers, participants, and the community.
  • Must have experience working with youth and young adults, and the ability (or willingness) to engage with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours, nights, holidays and weekends for events, trainings, and community meetings.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to demonstrate providing clear guidance and instruction.
  • Intermediate Competency in Windows operating environment using MS Office applications, database, email and internet programs.
  • Must have a valid NYS driver’s license with clean MVR, and reliable transportation.
  • Maintain regular and steady in person attendance.
