Dock Lead
As a highly valued member of the team, this position is responsible for ensuring that all inbound and / or outbound shipments are accurate and timely.
As a Dock Lead, you will :
- Provide daily / weekly balancing of skilled labor across the shipping and / or receiving department
- Oversee material handlers in achieving department and site performance objectives that include safety, cost, service, quality, and efficiency
- Convey relevant information to Supervisors, Manager and other employees
- Assist management by driving continuous improvement activities within the shipping department
- Create written and oral instructions that are needed in the shipping area
- Ensure understanding of company KPIs and take actions to meet them
- Must demonstrate competencies in the following areas : Leadership, Communication, Problem Solving, Learning and Development, New Hire Orientation, Performance Management, Personal Effectiveness, Diversity and Inclusion, Presentation Skills
- Other duties / projects as assigned by Shipping Supervisor
Required Education, Experience & Skills :
Shipping background is requiredMust be able to develop an in-depth knowledge of Manhattan (WMS), and knowledge should be extensive enough to train othersGood computer skillsCapable of utilizing Lean tools such as Kanban, VSM, pull systems, demand driven Supply Chain and Perfect Execution strategiesExcellent communication skillsLegal work authorization in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role now or in the futurePreferred Education, Experience & Skills :
Excellent communication skills in English / SpanishKnowledge of ISO QMSKnowledge of Manhattan WMSSchedule :
This is a second shift position with general working hours of Monday through Friday, 4 : 00 PM - 2 : 00 AM (hours and schedule can vary).
