About The Position

Job Title : Tele Tech / EKG Technician (Monitor Tech)

Location :   Wausau, WI

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours per Week : 36 hours

Shift : 12-hour nights (1900–0730)

Job Summary :

The Telemetry Technician is responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring of patients via centralized telemetry systems. The technician observes, interprets, and reports cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias, promptly communicating changes to the assigned Registered Nurse or clinical team.

Responsibilities

Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry using GE CareScapes equipment.

Accurately identify arrhythmias and communicate significant changes to nursing staff.

Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC electronic health records.

Support remote central monitoring for up to 4 facilities simultaneously.

Participate in team collaboration to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

Requirements

Experience :

Minimum 1 year inpatient acute hospital experience (REQUIRED)

1 completed travel contract (Highly Preferred)

Central monitoring experience for remote locations (REQUIRED)

Certifications :

BLS (AHA or ARC) – REQUIRED

Certified Telemetry Technician – Preferred

Must pass EKG test within 3 days of accepted offer

Education :

High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional clinical training preferred

Technical Skills :

Proficiency in EPIC charting system (Required)

Ability to interpret cardiac telemetry and recognize arrhythmias
