Payroll Specialist
We are seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team in Owings Mills, Maryland. This role is essential to maintaining accurate payroll processing while ensuring adherence to tax regulations and compliance standards. The position provides a compelling opportunity to manage complex payroll functions and contribute to financial planning, reporting, and organizational success.
Key Responsibilities :
- Process bi-weekly payroll for both Home Office and Field employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee monthly pension payroll operations and guarantee timely disbursement.
- Prepare and file weekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll tax deposits, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Create journal entries and conduct monthly account reconciliations with precision and attention to detail.
- Collaborate in developing annual budgets related to taxes and compensation accounts.
- Assist with audits, including 401(k), worker's compensation, and regulatory compliance reviews, by preparing and providing necessary documentation.
- Act as a backup resource for other team members within the department, providing cross-functional support when required.
- Ensure all payroll processes follow company policies and adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
Requirements :
High School Diploma required; a Bachelor's Degree in business or accounting is preferred.A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in employment tax preparation and general ledger reconciliations.Proven experience in payroll processing, with 2-4 years as a minimum.Proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll software; experience with ADP Workforce Now is strongly preferred.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.Familiarity with payroll tax reporting and Microsoft Access is an advantage.Intermediate mathematical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel are required.
