Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Legal Assistant to provide administrative and legal support to our attorneys and paralegals. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a plaintiff’s personal injury firm , excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy office setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with case management from intake through settlement or trial.
- Draft, edit, and format correspondence, pleadings, discovery demands, and legal documents.
- Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, and medical offices to obtain records and updates.
- Schedule depositions, IMEs, court appearances, and maintain attorney calendars.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Manage mail, scanning, e-filing (NYSCEF), and court document submissions.
- Provide general administrative support including answering phones, filing, and client intake assistance.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in personal injury or litigation .Strong knowledge of New York State court procedures and familiarity with NYSCEF e-filing .Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software (SmartAdvocate, Needles, or TrialWorks preferred).Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a proactive work ethic.Bilingual in English and Spanish — strongly preferred.Compensation & Benefits
