Job Summary
We are seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our team. In this role, you will make a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities by enhancing their quality of life. Responsibilities include providing support to service recipients; to carry out the stated objectives of the program; to maintain compliance with all applicable health, safety and programmatic standards. The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, and reliable.
Responsibilities
Maintaining positive, professional relationships with individuals, coworkers, supervisors, families, community members, and other outside agency representativesIntervene and promptly report all incidentsAssist individuals with safety during mealtimeSupport the individuals while in the communityDispense medicationPromote individuals rightsMaintaining individuals health and safetyQualifications
Previous experience as a DSP, or similar role is preferred (CNA, PCA, teachers or any medical / mental health care experience)Valid Virginia driver’s license (Should be driving for at least 2 years)At least a High School diploma or equivalentAbility to adhere to all health and safety guidelinesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to carry out task independently, given verbal or written instructions.Compassionate, respectful, ethical
