Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry

The Bay Pines VA Medical Center has an immediate opening for a full-time Board Certified / Board Eligible Consultation & Liaison Psychiatrist. The Bay Pines VA is located on the beautiful west coast of Florida, eight miles northwest of the international resort community of St. Petersburg and features a beautiful setting, with views of the Intracoastal Waterway from many hospital rooms. Candidates must be highly motivated, team-oriented, and committed to the care and good health of our veterans. The Bay Pines VA Medical Center is fully dedicated to providing top-quality medical care by serving and honoring Americas Veterans.

Duties :

• Management, psychotherapy, suicide risk assessments, crisis intervention, and overall care of patients with psychiatric disorders.
• Provide consultation services to the inpatient medicine and surgery services as well as the ED.
• Responsible for the continuing management of assigned patients
• Psychiatric examination and treatment
• Psychopharmacologic evaluation and treatment
• Coordination of consultations and referral of patients
• Operation of quality assurance and utilization programs including peer reviews, open and closed medical record reviews and utilization reviews
• Other duties as assigned
