Support inclusive education by using ASL to help Deaf and Hard of Hearing students access instruction in general and special education classrooms. This substitute position involves assignments based on school requests and student availability.

Preferred Qualifications :

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)

Previous experience in an educational or support role

Awareness of Deaf culture and learning accommodations

Reliable transportation for short-notice assignments

Willingness to support different grade levels and school sites

Responsibilities :

Interpret or transliterate teacher communication and peer interactions

Assist with daily routines, academic instruction, and testing situations

Implement teacher-provided accommodations

Encourage student independence and classroom participation

Adapt quickly to different school environments and instructional styles

Be prepared to contribute meaningfully to a student’s educational journey while working flexible, short-term shifts.

Hours are not guaranteed and shifts will be offered on an as-needed basis according to school needs.
