We are seeking a skilled GIS / Construction Field Engineer Specialist to join our innovative team. This role combines geospatial technology with engineering to ensure construction projects are executed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have expertise in GPS layout systems, drone operation, GPR, LIDAR, and photogrammetry, working at the intersection of surveying and digital technologies.
Responsibilities include digital mapping, GIS support, systems analysis, and data maintenance. The role involves fieldwork and technical data processing, reporting to the Survey Manager or Project Superintendent, and ensuring construction accuracy from start to finish.
Main tasks :
- Prepare and maintain digital maps, convert hand-drawn maps into GIS data.
- Support GIS studies with data creation, editing, and analysis.
- Maintain spatial data layers and produce maps and reports.
- Operate GPS systems for construction staking with ±2mm accuracy.
- Plan and execute drone missions for mapping and modeling.
- Use GPR for subsurface utility detection.
- Perform LIDAR scanning for topography and documentation.
- Apply photogrammetry for progress records.
- Interpret construction plans and translate into field instructions.
- Maintain survey equipment calibration.
- Coordinate with project teams and prepare technical reports.
Minimum qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geomatics, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field with GIS coursework.GIS Professional certification (GISP) preferred.At least 5 years of GIS experience, including 2 years with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and GPS hardware / software.Knowledge of GIS / GPS principles, database management, and geographic analysis.J-18808-Ljbffr
