The Plastic Surgery Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides clinical care, patient education, and support throughout the continuum of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. Working in collaboration with the surgeons and the multidisciplinary team, the LPN delivers comprehensive care with a focus on safety, quality outcomes, and exceptional patient experience. The LPN serves as a liaison between patients & staff—promoting a unified, patient-centered environment aligned with the organization’s mission and standards of excellence.

Compensation is $28.00 - $36.00 per hour based on experience.
Responsibilities
Care Coordination & Pre-Operative Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients navigating pre-operative requirements.
- Coordinate with referring providers and outside practices to obtain required medical records, labs, and clearances.
- Track and follow up on outstanding pre-operative documentation to ensure all requirements are complete before surgery.
- Educate patients on timelines, required tests, and next steps in the pre-op process.
Email & Communication Management
Triage the Plastic Surgery Department’s shared email inbox, respond to patient inquiries within scope of practice, and route clinical questions to the appropriate provider.Communicate with patients, families, and care teams via phone, email, and patient portal in a timely and professional manner.Escalate urgent clinical concerns to the surgeon, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner as appropriate.Clinical & Aesthetic Service Line Support
Assist with in-office patient care, including taking vitals, preparing patients for procedures, and supporting post-procedure monitoring.Support the aesthetics service line with treatments and procedures as permitted by LPN scope of practice (e.g., injections, wound care, dressing changes, IV hydration, etc., as directed).Maintain inventory and prepare rooms for procedures to ensure smooth clinic flow.Monitor patients during aesthetic services and provide post-treatment instructions as delegated.Compliance & Professional Standards
Document all patient interactions and care coordination in the EMR system accurately and timely.Ensure compliance with HIPAA and institutional protocols for patient confidentiality and recordkeeping.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of LPN scope of practice in New York and complete all required continuing education.Collaborate with surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and administrative staff to optimize patient experience and workflow.Qualifications
Education, Licensure or Certification :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare administrationCPR certificationBLS certificationLPN with an active license in the appropriate state (required)Work Experience Or Related Experience
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a surgical or specialty outpatient setting preferred; aesthetics or plastic surgery experience a plus.Minimum of 1 year of clinical practice as an Esthetician prior to or in addition to LPN experience is preferredSpecialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) and managing digital communications.Professional, empathetic, and patient-focused demeanor.
