Management Analyst Positions

The City of Culver City is seeking Management Analysts for various departments. Applications will be accepted beginning 8 : 30 AM, Monday, October 6, 2025. Please note only the first 100 applications will be accepted. The job posting may close without prior notice.

The following tasks are essential for these positions : thoroughly analyze program and operational issues, collect data to support conclusions and recommendations, write reports that support ideas logically, make effective verbal presentations, and maintain effective rapport with other governmental units. Incumbents may not perform all of these tasks or may perform similar related tasks not listed here.

Management Analyst- Fire Department

The individual in this position will be responsible for providing professional-level administrative and analytical support to the Fire Department. They will collect, analyze, and interpret fire and EMS data from records management systems, computer-aided dispatch, and other departmental sources. They will prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations to support decision-making, strategic planning, and program evaluation. They will assist with accreditation documentation, grants, and special projects assigned by department leadership. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with broad administrative experience. They will be able to translate complex datasets into meaningful insights for both technical and non-technical audiences. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who can also work independently, showing initiative and sound judgment while managing projects and deadlines. They will be curious, adaptable, and motivated to contribute to continuous improvement in support of the Fire Department's mission of protecting life, property, and the environment.

Management Analyst- Housing & Human Services Department

The Management Analyst in the Housing and Human Services Department is responsible for analyzing and improving programs that deliver housing and social services to the community. This includes evaluating program performance, developing policies and procedures, conducting data analysis and reporting, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The role also involves supporting grant applications and funding oversight, contributing to strategic planning initiatives, and coordinating with other departments, nonprofits, and community partners. The analyst helps ensure that services such as affordable housing, rental assistance, homelessness prevention, and other human services are delivered effectively and aligned with community needs.

Environmental Programs & Operations Analyst- Public Works Department

The Analyst in Environmental Programs & Operations is responsible for compiling and maintaining records of waste, recycling and organics route audits, gathers data, and develops outreach concerning food recovery program that educates commercial edible food generators and increases access to food recovery programs.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience in the desired area, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to keeping accurate records and accomplishing tasks under pressure. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to interact positively and effectively with the public, City staff, and appointed and elected officials. Candidate must be able to work independently, enjoys working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and committed to providing exceptional service.

Education and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way (not the only way) is the possession of a BA / BS degree and two years of professional administrative work in a public sector environment.

Only the most qualified candidates will be invited to advance to the next stage in the recruitment process, which consists of an oral appraisal interview. The oral appraisal interview is tentatively scheduled for the week of November 10, 2025. Continuation in the examination process and subsequent placement on the eligible list of a person convicted of a crime depends upon the nature of the conviction and the conduct of the applicant subsequent to the offense.
