The Senior Director of Manufacturing plays a significant role at Sunny Sky by directing and managing all manufacturing activities across multiple location. Responsibilities include, developing and implementing manufacturing strategies that are aligned with Sunny Skys missions and long-term objectives. The priorities for this position are Safety, People, Quality, Service, and Cost in order to achieve operational excellence, increase productivity, and foster business expansion. As a Sunny Sky leader, this position must demonstrate our Core Principles and work to achieve our Mission.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with the EHS&S Manager, lead EHS & Process Safety Management related activities.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive manufacturing strategy aligned with company goals and market demands.
• Build and mentor a high-performing manufacturing leadership team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
• Implement best practices to develop, support and retain manufacturing team members across multiple states.
• Lead all manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet production targets and quality standards at assigned plants.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency enhancement, and cost reduction while maintaining quality and safety.
• Coach Plant Managers to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost-control measures to optimize manufacturing expenditures.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve manufacturing performance.
• Collaborate closely with other departments such as HR, R&D, engineering, and sales to align manufacturing with product development and market demands.
• Champion a culture of demonstrating our Core Principles, along with continuous improvement, initiating and overseeing lean manufacturing initiatives and operational excellence programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience of at least 8 years in a senior leadership role within manufacturing operations.
• Track record of utilizing exceptional leadership skills that inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
• Demonstrated success in implementing lean manufacturing methodologies and driving operational excellence.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, technologies, and quality management systems.
• Ability to perform long-term project planning with meaningful timelines and budget forecasting.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Proficiency in leveraging data analytics and technology to drive operational improvements.
