Cost Specialist II – Contract Opportunity with LHH
Location : Houston, TX 77042
Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM
Pay Rate : $60–$70 / hour (flexible based on experience)
About the Role
LHH is seeking a Cost Specialist II for a contract position in Houston, TX. This role is essential for managing project cost control and reporting within major EPC and oil & gas projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in cost management tools, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed project cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses.
Monitor project expenditures against budgets and provide early warnings of potential cost overruns.
Support preparation of cost estimates and budgets for new projects and change orders.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Planners, and Finance teams to deliver accurate cost data and financial insights.
Prepare and present regular cost performance reports to management and stakeholders.
Review and validate invoices, purchase orders, and contracts for compliance with cost coding and budget allocations.
Maintain cost control systems and ensure data integrity in cost management software.
Assist in cash flow forecasting and financial planning.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Qualifications
Experience : 5–10 years in cost control within EPC or oil & gas projects.
Proficiency in cost control and reporting software such as EcoSys and PowerBI .
Strong understanding of project planning and scheduling processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or related field preferred.
Preferred Skills
Professional certifications such as AACE CCP , PMP , or similar.
Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities.
Familiarity with ERP systems and project controls best practices.
Experience in large-scale EPC projects and oil & gas operations.
Pay Details : $60.00 to $70.00 per hour
