Job Description
Stamping Press Operations Supervisor
Lead a high-performing press team with a safety-first mindset while driving throughput, quality, and continuous improvement in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
A Day in the Life
Your day begins on the press floor. You walk the line, verify PPE use, and kick off a quick safety huddle. You review overnight KPIs, close out a root-cause analysis from yesterday’s near-miss, and launch a targeted safety audit. You rebalance operators across presses to maximize machine utilization and keep production flowing against aggressive schedules. When priorities shift, you triage, troubleshoot, and coordinate with maintenance, quality, and engineering to minimize downtime and protect delivery commitments.
Midday, you’re coaching a technician, cross-training an operator, and recognizing a team member for a CI suggestion that trimmed scrap. You handle an employee relations question as the first point of contact and collaborate with union stewards on a contract-related item. Throughout, you maintain accurate records for production, quality, and safety, then roll up KPIs for leadership. Before handoff, you facilitate a brief Kaizen, tidy to 5S standards, and align on next steps.
