Sr. Automation Engineer

Overview

The Senior Automation / Controls Engineer for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for technical contributions focusing on state of the art and innovative automation solutions including equipment development, controls, and design through implementation for global operations. The primary role would include large scale automated equipment related to filling, capping, labeling, inspection, and advanced material handling functionality. This position is part of the Global system test and innovation engineering department located in Chaska MN and will be hybrid considering the multisite equipment deployment opportunities.

Base pay range

$110,000.00 / yr - $140,000.00 / yr

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders such as Beckman factories, contracted equipment suppliers and internal teams to generate user requirement specifications (URS) and other supporting design documentation to facilitate quotes, design, fabrication, testing and installation of automated equipment; design large scale automation equipment to be used in various BEC manufacturing sites; and translate problems into technical solutions.
• Lead project execution, cost estimates, budget management, scheduling, design reviews, equipment installation & start-up, troubleshooting, documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
• Provide design review and technical support throughout project duration in areas of automation controls, software, and overall design architecture. Specific areas of design, programming, and troubleshooting include PLC's, HMI's, Robotics, Servo control, vision systems, AC / DC motors.
• Create controls / automation engineering standard work best practices to be utilized throughout equipment procurement, design, installation, and FAT / SAT process. These standards will then be used to collaborate with contracted automated equipment suppliers by developing automation concepts and providing architectural level design and digital connectivity.
• Develop automation related design calculations, experiments, and studies for new processes.

The salary range for this role is $110K-$140K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
