Traveling Superintendent – Ground-Up Commercial Construction

Southeastern U.S. (Travel Required)

A well-established commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead ground-up retail and commercial projects across the Southeastern United States . This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who excels at managing site operations, building strong field teams, and delivering high-quality projects on schedule.

About the Role

The Traveling Superintendent will oversee all on-site construction activities for shopping centers, retail plazas, and mall projects . This person will manage day-to-day field operations, coordinate with subcontractors and project teams, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Direct and manage all on-site construction activities from start to finish

Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, field staff, and vendors

Maintain strict adherence to project schedules and budgets

Ensure compliance with all safety standards and company policies

Communicate regularly with the Project Manager and office team regarding progress, challenges, and solutions

Manage inspections, quality control, and punch list completion

Represent the company professionally while traveling to project sites throughout the Southeast

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction

Proven background with ground-up shopping centers, malls, or retail plaza projects

Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to travel extensively across the Southeastern U.S.

OSHA 30 certification preferred
