Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) with at least 2 years of IR experience and ARRT or RCIS certification for an adult and geriatric patient population.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a combined Interventional Radiology / Cardiology / Vascular / EP lab setting with approximately 80% IR cases
  • Adult and geriatric patient population with device implants including PPM and ICD
  • Procedures include diagnostic and interventional radiology, cardiology, and vascular cases
  • Utilize advanced equipment such as GE MAC Lab, Philips iFR / IVUS, Angio Jet, EKOS, Inari, CSI Atherectomy System, IABP, Impella, and various ultrasound units
  • Day shift 7 : 30 AM – 4 : 00 PM, five 8-hour shifts per week
  • Call required : weeknight call 4 : 00 PM–7 : 30 AM, weekend call from Friday 4 : 00 PM to Monday 7 : 30 AM; typically twice a week for two weeks per month plus one call weekend per month
  • Weekend requirement is every third weekend
  • No floating required
  • No RTO allowed after booking; no RTO permitted during orientation week; no holiday RTO
  • Unit orientation is 40–80 hours
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Assist providers with a wide range of diagnostic and interventional procedures, with a primary focus on IR
  • Call team consists of three staff members, including one RN; medication administration is completed by RN only
  • Callback time for STEMIs is 30 minutes; IR callback time varies by procedure
  • Traveler experience is not required
  • Candidates who are previous PERM / PRN / EP staff must wait 12 months before reapplying and must obtain rehire approval
  • Current travel per diem clinicians at this health system cannot apply for travel contracts concurrently
  • Candidate's permanent address under 50 miles will be offered at a lower local rate
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; no RTO allowed on holidays
  • Travel pairs are accepted if working on different units
  • Epic charting experience is preferred
  • Fatigue policy limits working to no more than 5 days in a row or 60 hours in one week
  • Online modules and training must be completed pre-start and annually
  • Orientation and training are unit-based, starting on Mondays

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Interventional Radiology
  • Current ARRT or RCIS certification required; ACLS and BCLS required
  • IR experience is required; skills must include scrub, circulate, and telemetry
  • NC or Compact State license required in hand at time of start if applicable
  • Charting experience with Epic preferred
  • Experience working with specialized IR and cardiology equipment is required
  • Must be able to participate in urgent and emergent procedures
  • Device implant experience (PPM / ICD) is required
  • Preferred : EKG lead placement skills, ARRT Advanced Cert, RCES, or RCIS with medication experience
