Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatrics unit requiring a compact or ND license, PEDS specialty experience, and the ability to care for a diverse pediatric population.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care pediatric unit serving patients from birth to 18 years with occasional adult overflowBlended unit treating a range of diagnoses including medical, orthopedic, surgical, oncology, behavioral health, and rehab casesUnit equipped for specialty procedures such as spinal taps, bone marrow collection, wound care, transfusions, IVs, and nasogastric tube managementEpic EMR system used for charting and medication scanning12-hour rotating day / night shifts with every other weekend and holiday shifts requiredTypical nurse-to-patient ratio is 3-4 on days / evenings and 4-5 on nights, adjusted by acuityRequired to float to NICU and Pediatric Acute Rehab Unit as neededResponsibilities include direct patient care, performing complex pediatric procedures, and assisting physicians with treatmentChild-friendly navy blue scrubs are required; certain t-shirts with logos and child-friendly tops are acceptableThree-day orientation provided at start of assignmentFloat requirements apply to support other pediatric-focused units as neededHoliday coverage is expected in rotationAssignment not eligible for local travel rate if residing within a 60-mile radiusReturning candidates with previous Sanford Health employment must disclose prior experienceRequirements
Active ND or compact state RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience on a general floor or higher level of care requiredCurrent AHA BLS and PALS certifications requiredWillingness and ability to care for rare adult overflow patientsMust complete NICU and PEDS skills checklists for considerationCannot reside within a 60-mile radius of the facilityBenefits
