Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU Float RN with a cardiac background, ACLS and BLS certifications, and the ability to manage critical care devices for a hospital-based float pool role.
Responsibilities
Work in a hospital acute care setting within the Adult ICU Float PoolFloat among six ICUs and an intermediate care unit, including SICU, MICU, PG5ICU, CCU, NCCU, CSICU, and the Cardiomyopathy IMCCare for adult critical care and IMC patients, including Level 1 trauma acute casesPatient ratios are typically 2 : 1 or 1 : 1 based on acuity12-hour day and night rotating shifts (7am-7 : 30pm and 7pm-7 : 30am) with every other weekend requiredExpected to float between two different units per shiftCharts using Cerner Soarian 2010 EMRNo on-call or standby requirementsRNs provide care across a variety of specialty ICUs and intermediate care settings depending on daily assignmentCharge nurse and one nurse aide per unit are present depending on sizeFull respiratory therapy and 24 / 7 MD coverage in ICUsRNs must maintain effective communication with the respiratory care team and be alert to equipment or patient status changesExpected to be available for one major winter and one major summer holidayThree orientation shifts included to familiarize with all unitsNo specific scrub color requiredLocal candidates are acceptedRequirements
Active RN license requiredMinimum of 2 years recent ICU nursing experienceACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications requiredStrong cardiac background with experience managing IABP, impella, post-op cardiac, and CVVH (CRRT) patientsAbility to titrate critical drips such as Levo, Vaso, Neo, and PropofolExperience with Phillips monitors and interpreting tele stripsMust not wear scrubs with other facility logos while on shiftBenefits
