JOB TITLE : Per Diem Pool Staff RN

REPORTS TO : Nursing Administration

POSITION SUMMARY : Provides professional nursing care by utilizing the nursing process to care for patients. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

It is expected that the RN will meet the performance standards within the three-month introductory period. A completed Competency Checklist must be on file with the Nurse Director prior to the three-month evaluation. Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE : Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing preferred. BSN preferred. Two years of nursing experience in a medical / surgical setting is preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Must possess a current California RN license and BLS certification. ACLS certification within 90 days of hire or status change. Must obtain basic dysrhythmia certification within 120 days of employment or status change.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : In accordance with ADA : prolonged, extensive or considerable standing / walking / sitting ; lifts, positions pushes (up to 50 pounds); repetitive motion : keyboard activity; considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching; manual dexterity and mobility; touch, auditory and visual perception and acuity; adequate vocal pitch and volume; ability to move quickly; Vision Requirements : sufficient perceptive acuity (vision and hearing) to perform all the related duties of the positions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT : Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness) : emergency and crisis situations, subject to irregular hours.

PER DIEM POOL AGREMENT :

• Work 6 shifts per 6-week schedule period to include 2 weekend shifts
• Work 1 Major Holiday (Christmas Day and New Year’s Day)
• Work 1 Minor Holiday (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving)
