The position is essential to ensure that capital improvement, major construction, and maintenance projects meet all federal, state, and local guidelines. The role manages compliance across all phases of these projects, including contracts, specifications, construction, and vendor management. The manager works independently and provides updates through periodic meetings.
Responsibilities
- Manage compliance for capital improvement, major construction, and maintenance projects, ensuring contractors / vendors maintain integrity and safe working environments.
- Collaborate with Construction PMs to design and monitor an up-to-date construction project records system.
- Resolve complex problems innovatively, achieving quality and process improvements.
- Oversee interactions with governmental agencies regarding zoning, environmental considerations, permits, and inter-local agreements.
- Prepare and maintain narrative and statistical reports, records, and correspondence.
- Support the execution of milestones and monitor progress of construction-related grants.
- Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Ensure business needs are met by evaluating ongoing effectiveness of plans, consulting with stakeholders, and improving efficiency.
- Conduct site inspections regularly to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Maintain documentation and records with relevant bodies and share with stakeholders.
- Develop training materials, conduct training sessions, and communicate compliance requirements to all employees.
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, aligning operations with company policies.
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies to stay updated on industry requirements.
- Maintain safety records, including incident reports and safety training certifications.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for construction sites.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in a relevant area, or equivalent, plus an additional 5 years of related experience, or equivalent for a total of 9 years of education and experience. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND / OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED)
