About the Position :
The Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management serves as a key member of the leadership team in the Simmons School of Education and Human Development. The Assistant Dean will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the school’s recruitment, marketing, and communication efforts. Reporting to the Dean, the position will develop and implement strategies to increase enrollment and enhance student quality. The Assistant Dean will work collaboratively with colleagues within the Dean’s Office, the school’s five academic departments, as well as central university offices to shape enrollment goals and implement best practices. This role is critical in positioning the Simmons School competitively in a dynamic higher education landscape and will lead data-informed efforts to support sustainable growth and achieve the school’s strategic enrollment goals.
Essential Functions :
Develop and lead comprehensive enrollment strategies for all undergraduate and graduate programs in Simmons, aligning with institutional goals and market demand. Implement on and off campus recruiting events, develop relationships with families, key feeder institutions, and school districts. Communicate effectively with prospective students and families.
Oversee admissions processes, policy, and timelines in partnership with program directors and department chairs. Ensure consistency, efficiency, and effective practices across all admissions functions. Every enrollment management process has a need for reflection, creativity, and a data driven approach.
Analyze enrollment trends, assess program capacity, and make data-informed recommendations to the dean and department chairs to grow and shape the student body. Engage with data analytics and enrollment forecasting to identify enrollment trends. Partner with school and university marketing teams to create targeted recruitment campaigns and digital strategies.
Liaison with important campus partner such as Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate School, Financial Aid, Registrar’s Office, Student Affairs, and the Provost’s Office to support the university and school’s recruiting initiatives. Serve on various committees within the school and university.
Working with department chairs, supervise all scholarships within the school and ensure the effective allocation of scholarship resources. Working with the Dean and Director of Development, create programs to link alumni, current students, and prospective students.
Qualifications
Education and Experience :
Master’s degree is required. Candidate with Doctoral degree is preferred.
A minimum of seven (7) years of experience is required.
Candidate with demonstrated experience in admissions and recruiting practices, management, and experience in leading a team is desired. Candidate with experience in data analysis and enrollment forecasting is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Candidate must demonstrate understanding of academic areas under the school. Must also demonstrate ability to use data to analyze a problem and recommend solutions. Attention to detail is a must. Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills. Knowledge of CRM's (i.e., Slate, PeopleSoft, etc.) is desired.
This position requires the candidate to work some evenings and / or weekends.
